Art & Craft Competition

The Melon Festival Art and Craft Competition has been a part of the Melon festival since day one.  The Competition gives all artisans a chance to show their wares to the Patrons of the Melon Festival.  Well supported with plenty of entries, it always makes for an excellent exhibition.

The Competition caters for most elements of the Arts:

• Art Section - Representational and Non-Representational in any medium, Drawing;
• Pottery Section - Wheel Thrown and Hand Built;
• Fibre Crafts - Patchwork and Quilting, Appliqué, Threadwork and Fibre;
• Wood Work - Turned or Crafted;
• Gold/Silver Smithing.

To encourage students, we offer a full section of Art and Pottery with prize money yet no entry fee. Special prizes will be awarded to Chinchilla residents for overall excellence in the sections.

Entries close January 14th, 2011.

Opening: The exhibition will be officially opened at a function 7pm Monday 14th February 2011, at Fuller Place, Heeney St, Chinchilla when winners will be announced. Tickets will be available from the Gallery for $10. Finger foods will be served, cash bar in operation.
