Free Family Concert
The Free Family Concert is always held on the Chinchilla State School Oval on the main day of the Melon Festival (in 2011 it will be the 19th February).
The 2011 performers will be announced later on this year.
In 2009, famous country singer Beccy Cole and Sunshine Coast band 'Atlantic Crossing' were the headliners, and a great night out was had by all!
BECCY COLE

In January Beccy Cole’s heartfelt and honest song, Poster Girl (Wrong Side of the World), swept all before it to take out a remarkable three Golden Guitars at the 2008 Country Music Awards of Australia.
It won Beccy Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, and has captured the imagination and hearts of fans and industry figures alike for its powerful message of compassion and peace.
The hat trick of Golden Guitars is the latest in a long string of successes for Beccy, whose talents as a singer, songwriter and performer have taken her to the forefront of Australian country music.
Beccy will be performing at the Melon Festival's Free Family concert, on the Chinchilla State School Oval, on Saturday 21 February 2008. We guarantee you will enjoy every aspect of her performance.
ATLANTIC CROSSING

A chance meeting between musicians “in between bands” founded a ten year partnership called Atlantic Crossing.
A common desire to influence each other and entertain audiences to the best of their ability has kept Atlantic Crossing fresh and “live” longer than most bands survive.
The Sunshine Coast has been good to Atlantic Crossing and venues have repeatedly asked them back because of their high entertainment value.
There is nothing shy and retiring about this band, if you don’t want to join the party, stand well back…
Entertainment at a live venue is a transfer of energy and Atlantic Crossing sees this as a two way street. They will put in the energy, but be prepared as they will demand it back. Come and see why Atlantic Crossing has been chosen to fill the party slot at the Chinchilla Melon Festival.
Rock solid line up… Rock solid performance… Rock solid Rock…
An age difference, an attitude difference…
There’s fun to be had here and it is mainly in the performance!!
